STEEL IS REAL
The Pine Mountain uses a butted and formed 4130 CrMo frame with Boost compatible dropouts, full fender and rack mounts, and three bottle bosses. Step up to Columbus Thron tubing with the Pine Mountain 2.
The Pine Mountain Trail Geometry is a mix between agility for trail riding, and all day comfort for bikepacking. Short chainsstays keep a shorter wheelbase for that active ride, while a 69 degree head angle makes for confident steering with or without the weight of gear.
"The Pine Mountain is a gorgeous steel hard tail that pays homage to the brands past, but incorporates modern amenities. Rolling on plus sized tires, a wide range 1x by drive train, and smart value oriented components, this is the perfect bike for all day trail rides and bikepacking adventures."
"The other interesting thing about having this bike on a longer term test was our ability to allow a wider range of testers to throw a leg over it and see what they thought. Universally riders came back with positive comments. Of particular note was the comments made by riders who had very little riding experience. They often commented that they were surprised how confident they felt riding it and how much fun they had on the ride overall. This was just as we expected. When it comes to shopping for a entry-level to mid-range hardtail we would have to have a very good reason to suggest to someone not to buy a plus-sized option. For a minor weight penalty you gain improvements in almost every other factor (traction, comfort, braking performance, overall confidence) that makes mountain biking the fun that it is."
"A solid good looking bike that will leave cash in your wallet for upgrades or sweet riding trips. Do you know of a chromoly hardtail that would challenge the Pine Mountain 1 for the belt at a fighting weight under 1.3k? If so let us know."
"The PINE MOUNTAIN family is definitely oriented and designed for adventure, and is perfectly suited to long treks over several days."
