Naild R3ACT — 2 Play Suspension

Acting on Newton’s Third Law that “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction,” this system provides unparalleled pedaling efficiency and bump compliance through a unique four-bar design and sliding suspension element. Naild’s R3ACT – 2 Play system uses an advanced kinematic that establishes a greater balance in load stabilization, minimizing unwanted energy losses.

FRAME MATERIAL

Unidirectional carbon fiber frame Marin utilizes the latest in high modulus carbon fiber technology and materials for the lightest and strongest frame possible.

Wolf Ridge Tech 3 2

BIOMETRIC GEOMETRY & RIDE BALANCE

Marin uses biometric fit data based on statistics of people’s body proportions, to develop the proper fit and weight distribution on each size of the Wolf Ridge. Using this data, we created four bike sizes that put each rider in the optimum position so that the center of gravity is the same for all sizes of people for balanced suspension kinematics, no matter the rider.

Wolf Ridge Tech 4

FULL INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING WITH FORGED ALLOY ENTRY CLAMPS

Full internal cable routing through the front and rear triangle requiring no zip ties or cable clamps for the cleanest look possible. 6061 forged cable entry clamps ensure your cables are neat and quiet.

Bike SetUp

The core values of the R3ACT – 2 Play suspension kinematics work different than any other system on the market today. The sag can be set between 20-30% of shock travel, allowing the rider to fine tune the ride height based on terrain. Steep and technical climbs can be tackled with less sag (20-25%) for better weight distribution as well as total suspension travel, while increasing the sag (25-30%) lowers the bottom bracket and slackens the head tube angle, for better downhill control. The total ride height variation is 16mm from 20% to 30% sag, giving the Wolf Ridge a ride tunability advantage over the competition.

Reviews

  • "This is a solid bike. The huge swingarm is a polarizing feature, but it allowed Marin to develop a bike that pushes the envelope with a new suspension design that works quite well, especially for its intended purpose. This thing is more than happy to push uphill without punishing you and can shred the descents with plush travel and competent geometry. Its unconventional looks will win over many riders but will likely be panned by some. Either way, this thing is going to turn heads, and those turned heads will probably belong to riders you are ripping past."

  • "To my eyes the 2018 Marin Wolf Ridge is the most interesting looking full suspension bike in years. Well over half the bikes currently on the market look like a 1994 Turner Burner, with even more adopting that outline for 2018. The Wolf Ridge is truly different in appearance and, according to Marin, in performance. I haven't thrown a leg over the bike and the contrarian in me loves it already. The more comments I read sh*t talking how it looks the more I'm attracted to it."

  • "The Marin descends like a powerful Enduro bike, with a lot of initial sensitivity and a great aplomb when hitting medium drops or big jumps. The bike sticks to the ground and tracks perfectly, whatever the situation. The straight, steep sections of trail are good, but the bike stands out in the areas of linked curves, where it descends with an amazing level of confidence...In practice we believe that this Marin is one of the best bikes we have ever tried and that really works as they say. "

  • "The bike everyone wants to sling a leg over: the Marin Wolf Ridge, with its fancy Nails R3ACT suspension system"

  • "This bike can really fly."

  • Winner of Interbike Innovation Award

  • "I think it’s pretty clear that Marin has a winner here — the Wolf Ridge works impressively well as an all-around Trail bike, despite having considerably more travel than most other bikes that I’d put in the “Trail” category."

  • "With the Wolf Ridge, Marin gets a real bang out for 2018. As the MTB all-purpose weapon, from cross-country to enduro, the fully should have all the fun what is needed: fast uphill, flowy over the trails and bocksteif (capable? -c) downhill... Marin has found a brand new rear-end technology with the name R3ACT - 2Play. Based on a four-bar system, a slider was also hidden in the large monostay, which was positioned above the bottom bracket to prevent any influence from pedal movements. At the same time, however, the chassis should ensure optimum traction and soak up impacts."
