How would you describe yourself to a visitor from another planet?

I’m just here to watch.

What’s your background in cycling?

Born and raised in the bike industry, and lifelong rider.

I was able to transition from the shop side of the industry to the production and design side in my late 20s, and I've been going this direction ever since.

How did you get involved with Marin?

I was living in the South Bay area in California, working for another bike company, and one of my best friends at that company got a cool new job at Marin.

About a year later, he made it known I needed to be there and participate in the resurrection of this awesome brand, and pretty soon after I was living in the birthplace of mountain biking and starting on this awesome journey.

What do you do at Marin?

I’m the Director of Product, and also manage all of the Drop Bar, Fitness/Urban, and Hardtail MTB categories.

What's the best thing about your job?

My job has taken me all over the world, seeing wonderful places and meeting life-long friends.

I get to think about, work on, and ride all kinds of fun bikes all over the place!

What was the best day at Marin you’ve had so far?

Too many to name and not just one stands far above some others, but when the whole Marin team is together for a planning session or event, hilarity will ensue!

What inspires you to do your job at Marin?

I love making cool, fun, and attainable bikes that make people want to go and ride, or ride even more.

What bikes do you own and which is your go-to bike?

I actually don’t own any bikes, but somehow my house and office are full of them… Everything is in some state of product development, some much rougher than others!

My current go-to bikes depend on the day and the ride. Weekends are time for my Alpine Trail Electric, which is amazing because I don’t have a car and all of the trails I ride are 6-7 miles away, and up 1000’ of climbing before hitting the dirt. That bike lets me get up to the trails and then ride all day with a smile!

Gravel is my DSX, because flat bar gravel just feels so good. And my weekday commutes are either done on my Sausalito 2 if it’s super hot or I’m a bit lazy, or my Larkspur if I’m stopping by the market on the way home.

Describe your riding style with a movie title

There will be blood.

What was the last book or magazine that you read?

David & Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell.

What have you learned from your time at Marin that you’d share with the world?

Life is all about good people and how you choose to spend your time with them.

If you could put an announcement on a billboard for every cyclist to see - what would it say?

SMILE AND SAY HI! (AND UPHILL HAS THE RIGHT-OF-WAY).
